Josh talks about "liberal bias" and I'm not saying that there haven't been people who were biased in their fact checking, but there is a bit of a problem when one political party is substantially more educated (and therefore more likely, as a whole, to have people in it who are inclined to seek rigorous evidence for assertions). That may lead to something that looks like "liberal bias" when in reality, it's more appropriate to say that Republicans are currently making far more unfounded assertions (overall) than Democrats.
Yes, there are people on the left who are (for example) anti-science, but denying reality is a much more common stance on the right (currently denying the fact that Trump lost in 2020 and that Jan 6 was an attempt to overthrow democracy are literal job qualifications for joining Trump's administration). As a result, conservatives are going to get fact-checked more often simply because they're sharing lies more often (and the lies are more central to the party).
